Porterfolio (established 2000) is the publishing partnership of husband-and-wife team David and Tricia Porter. Both of us have worked for many years in publishing and photography, and while we are continuing to create our own projects we are now collaborating on a new range of titles combining text and photography. The first Porterfolio is Over the Bent World (Solway, 1999), a celebration of the life and work of Gerard Manley Hopkins.

This site is designed and set up by David and is hosted by Zetnet (click here to look at their web site) who have been our Internet service provider for several years and are based in the Shetland Islands.

We were fortunate to be able to register the name www.porterfolio.com - there are hundreds of Porters on the Internet and it was only a matter of time before someone bagged the name first  (David published a booklet of poetry A Porterfolio in 1974, and some years later the poet Peter Porter did the same. Great minds.)

The site is designed in Adobe GoLive 5.0, also using Adobe's Photoshop 6.0 and Image Ready 3.0.

We plan to go on developing the site, so call by often! Future plans include access to Tricia's photo database and short descriptions of most of our projects.

Special thanks to Geoff Lovis for his expert advice and for a creative solution to one of several shortcomings of Adobe GoLive 5.0.
